Reading Blog #1

I agree with what their reading was saying, firstly when we talk about "brain dead" images, are we talking about the visually ascetic yet intellectually vacant, like stock photos with forced smiles? Or are we talking about things created purely for a quick dopamine hit, like memes?

first I do agree that a lot of media that is made at the moment is a lot of images initially presenting as pretty brain dead, however i also believe in the development & with Brain dead images becoming more mainstream, I believe that there is still a lot of depth & meaning behind them that the average viewer can retain. I think it is important to talk about why media & images are becoming more brain dead, i feel our lives are mostly dominated by interactions that give instantaneous gratification, however so for people trying to create media, they kind of reciprocate & reflect that instantaneous release of serotonin or meaning or whatever.

I think it also can relate to our main way of receiving ‘ viewing art is through the internet, where there are millions of both digital & physical art to view. To me, you loose some of the greatness or the thing that makes it special when you look at art online,
